Condolence & Memory Journal

Most of my memories of Leonard and Garnetta are from my youth since then a lot of time and miles have passed. Regardless their impression on a young man was indelible; that of a warm caring loving couple that always seemed to be smiling. They were folks you just enjoyed being around because of how they carried themselves and how the cared for others. The kind of people that a young man would try to replicate in his own life. Miss them

To the entire family: I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Leonard. I'm sure he is already catching up with Garnetta. I can picture a huge smile on his face as they were reunited. My prayers and deepest sympathy are with you.

I don't remember a time in my life that I didn't know Leonard.Growing up, I too was and am a member of Hope Untied Methodist Church. The Holzapfel family was there. I was a teller for the First National Bank, and I had the pleasure of waiting on Leonard,Frank, and Henry. To say they were 3 of my favorite customers would be putting it mildly. I don't think I ever saw Leonard with a frown on his face,he was always happy.
He was a great man and will sorely missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. RIP dear Leonard.

Who remembers when Mr. Holzapfel built an ice rink in his backyard for Nancy and her friends? What fun we had! He and Garnetta were always so nice.

Len, your father lived a life of dignity and ensured the respect the Holzapfel name will carry for generations to come.

This is an ineffably sad day for all. Leonard has been a pillar of the community for decades. He set an example of goodness, generosity, and love we all strive to emulate.
He loved spending time within the bosom of his family and they reciprocated that love. As the great-grandchildren mature into wonderful members of this society, they will, in part, be shaped by his life. He has made a deep and lasting impression on them, so they will carry him in their hearts throughout their lifetimes.
I feel so privileged that my life was enriched by his life.

Prayers to all family members
