Austin D. "Milli" Milliken, age 17, of Wellston, passed away Thursday morning, January 5, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous 17 year battle with AVM. He was born July 2, 1999 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Matthew S. Milliken and Mary E. Walters Milliken. Austin, a senior at Wellston High School, had already received his diploma from Wellston City Schools, making him a 2017 graduate. He was a point guard for the Wellston Runnin' Rockets basketball team and the manager of the Wellston Golden Rockets football team. Austin was a typical teenager who was a gamer and a Jack of all trades; but most of all, he was an inspiration to others. He is survived by his parents, Matt and Mary Milliken of Wellston; brother, Ryan Milliken of McArthur; grandparents, Gregg and Nila Milliken of Wellston; great-grandparents, Harry and Nellie Oyer of Chillicothe; nephews and niece, Gavin, Hunter, Kynnli and Emry Milliken, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Austin was preceded in death by great-grandparents, John and Ethel Milliken, Blain and Ida Amburgey and Moses and Mary Ellen Walters. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. A Celebration of Life service will be Monday at 11 A.M. at the Wellston High School gymnasium with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery. For those who wish, the family would appreciate contributions be given to the Austin "Milli" Milliken Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Wellston City Schools, 1 East Broadway, Wellston, Ohio 45692.
