Betty J. Coyle, age 88, of Ray, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at Heartland of Chillicothe. She was born March 28, 1929 in Vinton County, Ohio to the late Charles Levi McFadden and Ethel Leona Rinehart McFadden. Betty, a 1947 graduate of Allensville High School, was a loving housewife and mother who enjoyed writing poetry and songs and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Log Pile Church. Betty is survived by her children, Teresa Christian (Ed) of Chillicothe, Patty Thacker of Wellston and Ralph Coyle, Jr. (Beverly) of Mansfield; grandchildren, Mike Starkey (Vanessa), Scott Starkey (Erica), Stephanie Mullins (Anthony), Josh Wells (Brook), Ryan Coyle (Brooke) and Andrew Coyle; great-grandchildren, Craig, Lucas, Chloe, Brandon, Hope, Olivia, Hayden and Ace; great-great-grandchildren, Max and Reagan; sisters, Frances Speakman (Lawrence) of Ray and Sharon Turner (Ivan) of Circleville; brother, Bill McFadden (Sonnie) of Wellston, along with several nieces, nephews cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Coyle, Sr. in 1992; son-in-law, Max Starkey; sisters, Evelyn Butt, Carol Ison and Thelma Barlow; and brothers, Robert McFadden and Charles McFadden. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Thursday at 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Rev. Jim McFadden officiating. Burial will follow in the Byer Cemetery.
