With a heavy heart, I will try to write the obituary of my dearly beloved mother. Betty Jean Mullins Barnett, age 80, of Hamden, was born September 30, 1936 in Jenkins, Kentucky. She left this earth on May 30, 2017 at the age of 80. She is preceded in death by her parents, John J. Mullins and Alberta "Bertie" Stewart Mullins; sister, Lenoris Baker, and grandson, Clinton. She was married to her loving husband of 62 years, Donald Leroy Barnett. Surviving are two brothers, Donald Mullins (Joy) of Hamden and Robert Mullins (Sandy) of Wilkesville. To this union were born 3 children, Mitchell Barnett (Rita) of Hamden, Linda Haubiel (Kenny) of Circleville and Donna Vititoe (Clifford) of Hamden. Mom had 4 grandchildren, Amanda, Jennifer, Paula and Jeremy. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Mom loved to go to church, work in the garden and can food. She was my dad's whole world. I am at peace knowing she isn't suffering anymore. You are loved graciously and will be deeply missed. Your journey in life is over and Heaven awaits you with open arms. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 4 to 8 P.M. at Maggie's Home Church in Dundas. Funeral service will be Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Maggie's Home Church with Donald Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mullins Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to be given to McWilliams Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
