Douglas Allan Heitman, age 76, of Zaleski, beloved husband, grandfather and great grandfather went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2016. He was born April 27, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Herman Heitman and Dorothy Grunner Heitman. Douglas was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joan Heitman, a son, Brian, four daughters, Heather, Rosalie, Cheryl and Pamela, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a sister Jean. He was a former mayor of Zaleski and a member of the Zaleski United Methodist Church. Some of Douglas's favorite past times included playing golf and model train railroading. In keeping with Douglas's wishes, a cremation will take place and no visitation hours will be observed. In lieu of flowers,the family would like donations to the Zaleski United Methodist Church, 114 Broadway street Zaleski, Ohio 45698. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date .
