Grace Spires, age 97, of Ewington, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Holzer Senior Care Center in Bidwell, Ohio. She was born September 25, 1919 in Roane Co, West Virginia to the late Seldon B. Kincaid and Mary Herrald Kincaid. Grace, a former pastor's wife, was a loving homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was an artist who enjoyed painting and writing poetry, as well as knitting, crocheting and quilting. Grace is survived by her 3 sons, Arlen Spires (Laverne) of Belpre, Roger Spires of Worthington and Terry Spires of Dayton;
grandsons, Mark Spires of Gallipolis and Ryan Spires of Sunbury; great-grandchildren, Holly Clifford, Jeremy Partlow, David Spires and Kyle Kurtz; great- great grandchildren, Cally, Charles, Cameron and Carlee Clifford and Jaden and Bryson Partlow, along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Rev. Ralph H. Spires in 2007; grandson, Jeffery Spires; and siblings, Burl Kincaid, Bernard Kincaid, Edna Sells, Elsa Norman, Buria Kincaid, Alta Vance and an infant sister. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 6 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Monday at 11 A.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
