Kenneth Leroy "Kenny" Bapst, age 69, of Beaver, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, January 7, 2018 while enjoying what he loved to do, with the grandson that he loved. Kenny was born at his grandparents home, and the house that he now resided in, on September 9, 1948 in Stockdale, Ohio. He was the son of the late Raymond Lewis Bapst and Eileen Florence Pollard Bapst. Kenny was a 1966 graduate of Eastern High School and a veteran of the United States Army, who served during the Vietnam War. He was a business owner who owned and operated Cobblestone Leather Shop in Portsmouth, Ohio. Kenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing video games and target shooting. He was a fun loving human being and was always willing to help anyone in need. Kenny is survived by his wife of 35 wonderful years, Lanita Brewer Bapst; children, Tonia Gailey of Lynchburg, Virginia, Sherri Landreneau of Blue Springs, Missouri, Vanita London of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Sonya Levier of Topsail, North Carolina; brother, Raymond Bapst, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Joyce Wallach and Jeannie Gawronski, both of Powell, Ohio, along with 10 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and a host of friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Kenny would give the shirt off of his back to help anyone, so in lieu of flowers, the family would like for you to help someone who is genuinely in need. Arrangements are by the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston, Ohio.
