Kimberly Elaine Gottfried, age 22, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017. She was born October 24, 1994 in Fairfax, Virginia, daughter of Bryan S. Gottfried and Laura Elaine Walker Benedetti. Kim was a former student at Vinton County High School, where she played girls basketball. She was the kindest person who loved everyone with an open heart and open mind. She believed in living her own life to its fullest, as well as keeping an active social life with her friends. Kim enjoyed crocheting, swimming, listening to hip-hop music and spending time with her family. She is survived by her parents, Bryan and Beverly Gottfried of Louisville, Ky. and Laura and Anthony Benedetti of Wellston; brothers and sisters, Melissa Paige Gottfried, Victoria Gottfried, Hannah Reed, Ben Gottfried and Alex Gottfried; grandfather, Larry Post; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Kim was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward and Betty Gottfried and Mary Diane Post. Visitation will be Saturday from 5 to 7 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 7 P.M. with Pastor Travis Potts officiating.
