Melvin Joseph "Joe" Mullins, age 48, of New Plymouth, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017. He was born October 9, 1968 in Wayne County, West Virginia to the late Melvin Mullins and Mahalia Brewer Mullins. Joe was a 1987 graduate of Vinton County High School and he was employed with Precision Sitework Company. In his spare time Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his passion was farming. Joe is survived by his wife, Crystal A. Stewart Mullins; children, Crissy Rowe (Nick) of Plymouth and Joseph Tyler Mullins of New Plymouth; grandson, Alexander Scott Rowe; brothers, Robert Mullins (Heidi) of Athens, Danny Mullins of Logan, Shawn Mullins of Creola, J.R. Murphy of Wellston, Cody Murphy of Commercial Point and Casey Murphy of Commercial Point; special aunt, Roxie Brewer of Columbus; nieces and nephews, Robert "Hunter" Mullins and Laken Jo Mullins, both of Athens, Raylynn Mullins of Logan, Gracia Mullins, Kaleb Mullins and Eli Mullins, all of Creola, and Blaize Mullins of McArthur. Besides his parents, Melvin and Mahalia Mullins, Joe was preceded in death by his grandmother, Racheal Brewer. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 A.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Radcliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Creola Cemetery.
