Michael J. Pratt, age 67, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born January 1, 1949 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Jack Pratt and Barbara Jane Peoples Pratt. Mike, a 1967 graduate of Wellston High School, was a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Vietnam War. He was a construction worker during his working life, was of the Catholic faith, and was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. Jackson County Chapter 45. One of Mike's passions in life was music. He was a wonderful song writer and guitar player. He was also an avid fisherman. Mike is survived by his wife of 25 years, Belinda Arthur Pratt; sons, Tony Pratt and Tim Pratt, both of California; step-sons, Jerrod Arthur of Wellston and Joel Collins of Bellsville; aunt, Donna Steele of Wellston; father-in-law, Johnny Arthur of Troutman, NC; mother-in-law, Charlotte Patrick of Wellston, along with 9 grandchildren, 2 nieces, 1 nephew and several cousins and friends. Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sisters, Carol Pratt Estep and Janet Pratt, and 1 nephew. In keeping with Mike's wishes, his body was cremated and memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
