Michelle Irene Dutcher Miller, age 45, of Hamden, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Holzer Medical Center ER in Jackson, Ohio. She was born February 13, 1972 in Nelsonville, Ohio to William "Bub" Dutcher and Linda Jividen Dutcher Maerker. Michelle was a 1990 graduate of Vinton County High School. Michelle met the love of her life, Gary Miller, a Wellston guy, when she was 20 years old. They moved to Columbus, and there she worked for Sun T.V. They moved back to Hamden in 1998 and opened "Michelle's Place", the best place around to get a walleye dinner. Together, they had "Michelle's Place" until 2008. At that time, Michelle started working for AEP until her back surgeries would no longer allow her to work. Also in 2008, Michelle became a member of the Hamden Fire Department. Her fire department family was very important to her. She loved being part of the community and she especially loved her fire department bingo players. Even in her later years, when she couldn't go on fire runs, she would still clean around the station and man the radio to stay involved in her passion. Michelle was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. She welcomed everyone into her heart, and she had a big one. She was a great listener and prided herself with being able to listen to someone and help them with their problems, no matter how many problems she had herself at that time. Michelle loved her family, her fire department and her town of Hamden. As one last way of giving back to others, Michelle was an organ and tissue donor. She will be missed by her furry babies, Sassy, Boogs and Grayson; her furry nieces, Copper and Paisley, and all the new outside kittens. But most of all, she will be missed by her family. Michelle is survived by her husband, Gary D. Miller; mother and step-father, Linda and Edmund Maerker of Hamden; step-children, Morgan Miller (Eric Cremeans) of Westerville, Jessica Kehler (Garrett) of Frederick, Maryland; granddaughter, Mackensie Miller-Bell of Westerville; brothers, Mike Dutcher (Rhonda) and Kevin Dutcher (Kelly), both of Hamden; sister-in-law, Misty Dutcher of Hamden; nephews, Tyler (Robin), William (Haley) and Nicholas Dutcher; niece, Elisabeth Dutcher; step-sister, Deidra Peterson (Matt); step-brother, Josh Maerker (Kayla); step-nephews, Alec Ray, Payton and Trase Speakman and Wyatt and Gideon Peterson; special sister-in-law, Belinda Price; special cousins, Radonna Worrix and Jerry Jayjohn (Jeremy), along with several other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. Michelle was preceded in death by her father, William Dutcher, grandparents, Bill and Mildred Dutcher, Maggie Waldron and Grandma Leach; and cousins, Deborah Worrix and Ryann Lewis Harmon. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston, where a fireman's service will be held at 8 the Hamden Fire Department. A Celebration of Life service will be Wednesday at 11 A.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hamden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate memorial contributions in Michelle's name be given to the Hamden Fire Department, P.O. Box 309, Hamden, Ohio 45634 or Muscular Dystrophy Association, 222 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 1500, Chicago, Illinois 60606.
