William H. "Bill" Blazer, age 83, of Cheshire, passed away Wednesday morning, January 17, 2018 at Edgewood Manor in Wellston. He was born January 30, 1934 in Gallia County, Ohio to the late Claude Arnold Blazer and Mary Louise Angell Blazer. Bill was a 1952 graduate of Cheshire High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, who served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Operating Engineers Union Local #18 and he enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family and his dogs. Bill is survived by his wife, whom he married o April 6, 1974, Diana McAllister Blazer; 2 daughters, Billi Jo Ervin of Wellston and Heather Elaine Blazer of Cheshire; 2 grandchildren, Justin Ervin (Erica) of Wellston and Courtney Ervin of Wellston; and 2 great-grandchildren, Zane Ervin and A.J. Ervin. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Blazer; brother, Jack Blazer; and sister, Jean Ann Stovall. Calling hours will be Saturday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Sunday at 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Harmon officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
