Wyladene Kay Cheatwood, age 78, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at her home. She was born October 21, 1938 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Lawrence Fitzgerald and Jenny Emmert Fitzgerald. Wyladene, a 1956 graduate of Wellston High School, retired from General Mills where she was employed for many, many years. She attended the former Trinity United Methodist Church in Wellston and enjoyed writing poetry, reading, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Lori Cook (Mike), Kevin Cheatwood (Tammy) and Kerry Cheatwood (Sandy), all of Wellston; sister, Iris Gill of Wellston; sisters-in-law, Karen Cheatwood and Sue Rose (Bob), all of Wellston, as well as 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Wyladene was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne "Doc" Cheatwood in 1994; brother, John Robert Fitzgerald; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Kate Cheatwood. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Saturday at 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
