Utah Coleman, age 84, of McArthur, passed away peacefully Friday morning, January 12, 2018 at Pickaway Manor in Circleville. He was born January 10, 1934 in Pike County, Kentucky to the late George L. and Victoria Coleman. Utah was a veteran of the United States Army. He attended Morehead University and later received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Ohio University. Utah was a former teacher and educator at Zaleski School, as well as a former office manager at Adelman Lumber in McArthur for 40 years. He enjoyed his lottery tickets and his passion in life was his family and working. Utah is survived by his children, Tammy Deck (Chris) of Circleville, Brian Coleman (Rhonda Carpenter), Mark Coleman (Stef Sweaney), and Michael Coleman (Mandy Yates), all of McArthur; granddaughters, Tonia Iles (Trevor) of Cincinnati and Tiffanie Coleman of Hamden; sister, Catherine Addington (Danny) of Pike County, Kentucky; brother, Dwight Coleman (Sharetta) of Willis, Texas, along with 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Edith Fleming Coleman, in 2007; brothers, Troy Coleman and Landon Coleman; and sister, Creda Anderson. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Pickaway Manor and the staff at Heartland Hospice. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 A.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Elder Larry Stanley officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in McArthur.
