Donald W. Jones, Sr., age 53, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born October 6, 1958 in Cabin Creek, W.Va., the son of the late George and Lola Gentry Jones. Donald was a 1977 graduate of Wellston High School and Buckeye Hills Career Center. He was a former employee of Green Giant and Bellisio Foods, where he worked as an industrial maintenance man. Donald was a veteran of the Unites States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston and the V.F.W. Post 9092 of Wellston. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Grace Exline Jones; children, Jennifer Jones Gilliland, Donald W. Jones, Jr. and Jessie Jones, all of Wellston; grandchildren, Amber and Dillan Gilliland and Trinity Jones; sisters and brothers, Patricia Mitchell of Florence, Ky., Margaret Jean Skinner of Beverly, Carol Bush of Lancaster, Geneva Erwin of Crooksville, Thomas Jones of Vincent, Joyce Clemons of Wellston, Ronald Jones of Hamden, David Jones of Byer and Darrell Jones, Sr. of Hamden, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Jones; nephew, Darrell Ray Jones, Jr.; niece, Kimberly Jones; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Virginia Exline. Calling hours will be Saturday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Mathews officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate contributions, in Donald's name, be given to the McWilliams Funeral Home.
